Two clocks run on the same system and neither one forgives. A rectifier owes six inspections a calendar year with no gap over 2½ months, and the test station owes an annual survey with no gap over fifteen. Meet every interval and you can still finish December one short — which is precisely the finding that gets written up. This counts both, per unit, and tells you what falls due next.

Under 49 CFR 192.465 a rectifier carries an interval limit and a yearly count, and they are not the same requirement. §195.573(c) says the same thing for hazardous liquid. Satisfy the gap every time and the count can still land at five, because 2½ months into a year divides badly and nobody notices until somebody counts.
Logged from the last inspection on that unit, not from a calendar month. The next-due date is set the moment you save the reading, and the unit turns amber a fortnight before the ceiling rather than red the day after it.
Counted independently of the interval and reset on 1 January. From October the app flags any unit running short while there is still time to fix it, instead of after the year closes.

Every rectifier and every test station shows its last record, its next due date and how many days are left. Overdue sits at the top in red with the number of days it has been running past due. Anything falling due inside a fortnight sits under it in amber, with enough notice to actually schedule the trip.
Pick the criterion — −0.850 V polarised, on-potential, or a 100 mV shift — type the pipe-to-soil potential, and the app tells you pass or below criterion before you leave the screen. No working it out later against a threshold somebody half-remembers.
§192.465(f) wants the extent of inadequate protection determined and corrected, and a close-interval survey where the cause is systemic. A reading under criterion stays flagged on the status screen until a remediation record is raised against it and given a close-out date.
Mark a unit as remote-monitored and its remote reads count toward the six — but the app keeps asking for the one on-site physical inspection that calendar year, and flags the unit if remote reads pile up without it. PHMSA's April 2026 rulemaking on remote monitoring is exactly this distinction.

Field labels carry the CFR paragraph they come from — §192.465(a) on the survey, §192.465(b) and §195.573(c) on the rectifier inspection, §192.465(f) on the remediation record. When somebody asks which requirement a field covers, the answer is on the field, not in a binder back at the office.
